Ethekwini Cheese Our People


eThekwini Cheese (Pty) Ltd was established in Ballito in July 2016. The technical, product development, commercial and manufacturing expertise comes from a UK family team made up of Stephen, Simon and Antony Dixon.

The father and son team relocated to South Africa in 2014, following a history of successful cheese processing operations in both the UK and the USA, after realizing the potential of functional processes dairy ingredients in the South African market following an extensive market research study conducted through export of products from their USA facility.

Stephen Dixon has been in the cheese processing business for no less than 45 years. He held senior Director roles in R&D and Operational positions within Kraft Foods for over 20 years which required him and his family to live and work in several locations around the world including Chicago, Montreal and Munich. He is generally well recognized within the industry as one if the world’s leading authorities in cheese processing and innovation.
